What are the roles and responsibilities of a JA Finance Park volunteer facilitator during the on-site simulation?
- Volunteer facilitators who plan to attend JA Finance Park must complete a mandatory training session at the JA facility early on the morning of the student visit.
- During the visit, volunteers will work at one JA Finance Park business assisting a group of six students.
- Volunteer facilitators help ensure the safety and security of the students.
- Volunteer facilitators will read and follow the facilitator’s directions and assist students in remaining on-task.
- Volunteer facilitators will allow the students to do the work and encourage them to do their best.
- Volunteer facilitators will assist students with their personal budget planning and watch for teachable moments.
- Volunteer facilitators will answer students’ questions as they participate in The Big Search and The Final Commitment activities.
- Volunteer facilitators will help students record their budget payments during The Final Commitment and record their payments on their individual Checkbook Registers.
- Volunteer facilitators will assist students with business cleanup at the end of the day.
