Thank you for considering becoming a Junior Achievement Classroom Volunteer! This is a great opportunity to have a wonderful volunteer experience and work directly with local teachers and students! To all of our seasoned JA volunteers, thank you once again for being a part of the JA team!
What’s the first step?
Click on the link below to fill out the volunteer registration form or contact Rianna Carlisle at (570)-602-3600 or rcarlisle@janepa.org. The program staff will discuss with you the classrooms that are currently in need of in-classroom volunteers.
When you have selected the school, grade level (we offer Kindergarten through grade 12), and class that you feel most comfortable with, you will receive training on how to best present the JA curriculum. The training takes 30 minutes and is done at your work site, or wherever is most convenient for you. The curriculum is FUN, interactive, and is presented in a clear, easy-to follow format.
What’s next?
After our volunteers have been given their materials and training they then contact their assigned teacher to determine the dates of the visits.
What’s the time commitment?
The time commitment varies for each grade level. Elementary volunteers (K-5) present 5, 30-45 minute lessons. Middle grade and high school volunteers (6th-12th) present 6, 45 minute lessons. If you’d like more information about how to become a JA classroom volunteer, please contact Rianna Carlisle at (570)-602-3600 or at rcarlisle@janepa.org.
